ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ students perform in Seniors Week

ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ students made a ​Seniors Week visit to Glenview Nursing Home last week. ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ has developed a strong relationship with Glenview Nursing Home in recent years. Students have participated in their lantern festival, performed concerts for the residents and helped hang Christmas decorations, and in return, residents have come to the College to watch a variety of different performances.

No Strings Attached

'No Strings Attached' is our Year 8 ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ contemporary rock and pop band. Newly formed in Term 3, 2016, the group consists of students who are new to performing and show a great interest and passion for music. Led by Guitar Tutor, Mark Schmalfuss, 'No Strings Attached' performs a student-led repertoire list of contemporary material that is re-arranged by the students themselves, pushing their instrumental abilities and growing their musicality.

ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ’s biennial Creative Arts festival is two weeks away, and when it came time to choose a student’s art to feature in the publicity for the Festival, the Creative Arts teachers agreed: the artwork of Year 10 student, Kate Lovell, was the first choice! Year 1 art: God's Eye's

Year 1 students and teachers have been busily preparing for the upcoming ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Creative Arts Festival. This year we have themed our collaborative piece of artwork ‘Fashioned in God’s Eyes’. Throughout Term 3 students have been learning to weave small craft pieces called ‘God’s Eyes’. The God’s Eye is symbolic of the power of seeing and understanding that which is unknown and unknowable, The Mystery.

Dominic students and The Kettering Incident

ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ has a strong connection to The Kettering Incident, the popular and critically acclaimed eight-part TV drama, now reaching its conclusion on Foxtel’s Showcase channel. Haylee Fry with sister Libby, and Liam Harris are all involved in the dancing in the Kettering Community Hall. But the show really features Year 7 Creative Arts Scholarship student, Thomas Readman. Thomas plays a crucial role as ‘Kade,’ a young man who lives with his mother in the forest, and is central to the exposition of the weird happenings in the show.
