Yr 7-9 Academic Pathways evening

The Academic Pathways planning evening for Years 7-9 studnets was again a successful evening as we provided our parent community an opportunity to mingle, connect and discuss elective subjects.

Apple for the teacher visit

7HOFM are on the hunt for Southern Tasmaniaâ€™s favourite Primary School Teacher. On Tuesday 21 August ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ welcomed local radio talent Mick and Matt into classrooms of College teachers who have been nominated for 'Apple for the Teacher.' ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ has seven of our K-6 teachers who have been nominated in the competition. The winning teacher receives an Apple Mac computer, with every student in their class taking home an Apple iPad.

Leadership Awards to ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ staff

At a function at the University of Tasmania this week, our Coordinator of 7-10 English, Mrs Jan Marcenko and our Coordinator of 7-10 Humanities, Mr Ben Fulton, both received 2018 Australian Council for Educational Leadership Tasmania (ACEL TAS) Awards for Excellence.

Academic Pathways evening

â€‹Students in Years 7, 8 and 9, together with their parents/guardians are invited to attend the Academic Pathway evening session from 6.30-8pm on Wednesday 22 August. Teachers will be available to provide assistance and advice with elective subject choices for 2019.

Three stream kindergarten 2019

The College has been supported by the Salesians of Don Bosco in our endeavours to initiate a restructure of our K-6. Our capacity to enrol more students to meet demand and simultaneously reduce our class sizes K-6 is linked strategically with our ability to establish three Kindergarten classes.

Science Fair news

Year 10 students, Sarah Hawkins and Mikaela Cruz, and ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Director of Science K-10, Ms Jane Myers, attended Government House on Wednesday evening for a reception hosted by His Excellency the Honourable Justice Alan Blow, OAM, Lieutenant-Governor, and Mrs Margaret Blow. This event was to mark National Science Week in Southern Tasmania.

Some students at school are able to find a good balance between all the parts and areas of their life: schoolwork, sports, activities, friends, family, work, technology and all of the other aspects of life that keep us busy from when we wake to when we sleep.

K-6 Parent Workshop - Numeracy Night

After the success of last yearâ€™s combined Kâ€“6 evening, we again joined together so parents could access information from across the grade levels. Presenting as a K-6 staff allowed parents to see where their children are coming from and where they are going to.
