Dominic at the Royal Hobart Show

â€‹Good luck and many thanks to â€‹Ms Jane Myers, Mr Mark Nolan, Ms Miriam Cockerill and Ms Judy Scaife â€‹â€‹who will be working at various times over the coming weekend with our Year 5-10 students and their animals who are entered into the Royal Hobart Show.

Fra Angelico Song Writing School

ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ was privileged to host 32 students from 10 different schools during the recent school holidays, to participate in a song writing workshop with high profile Australian Music Director Darryl Beaton.

DVCB Spring School at Dominic

â€‹During the first week of holidays the Derwent Valley Concert Band held its annual Spring School for the first time at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬, utilizing the new state-of-the-art facilities in Fra Angelico. This was the largest attendance thus far for the Spring School with approximately 120 students from around Tasmanian in attendance and with 10 students from ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ participating.

Derwent Valley Concert Band Spring School at Dominic

The Derwent Valley Concert band is holding their 4th annual Spring School on the weekend of the 5-7 October, at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬. The Derwent Valley Concert Band is extending an invitation to all woodwind, brass and percussion musicians to participate in the three-day workshop. At the conclusion of the Spring School a small concert will be given starting at 3pm.

Music and Dance Showcase success

On Thursday 20 September over 180 students participated in the second ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Music & Dance Showcase. The event gives us the opportunity to present the large scale music and dance performance works in a suitable venue, the Don Bosco creative Arts Centre, GYC.

Showcase sold out - almost....

The 2018 Music & Dance Showcase is almost sold out. The event is on Thursday 20 September with the lobby of GYC's Don Bosco Arts Centre open at 6.15pm for refreshments and the show commences at 7pm. Over 100 students will perform in 16 acts, including vocal groups, choirs, bands and dance groups.

Music students perform at Clarence Eisteddfod

Last week, over 120 Dominic students performed in the City of Clarence Eisteddfod, and we saw some excellent performances.

Tasmanian Governor has fun

The Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency Professor The Honourable Kate Warner and her husband Mr Warner attended our production of Much Ado About Nothing last Friday night.

Derwent Valley Concert Band Spring School

The Derwent Valley Concert Band would like to extend a warm invitation to all musicians to participate in its fifth annual, non-residential concert band Spring School held at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬, over the middle weekend of the upcoming school holidays.

Retrospective demonstrates student and old scholar talent

â€‹Talking Heads Retrospective, held on the final night of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Creative Arts Festival in the Peacock Theatre at Salamanca, was not only an exciting night of theatre, but demonstrated the talent pathway available for students who pursue rich dramatic experiences at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬.
