Good luck and many thanks to Ms Jane Myers, Mr Mark Nolan, Ms Miriam Cockerill and Ms Judy Scaife who will be working at various times over the coming weekend with our Year 5-10 students and their animals who are entered into the Royal Hobart Show.
We are entering sheep, alpacas, goats, rabbits, ducks and chickens.
This year we are entering our Dairy Goats: Chieri – Toggenburg, for her good looks and body conformation, and Tempest – Anglo Nubien, for her milk quality and quantity and her Udder.
She will be milked out twice a day for the three days to have her butterfat tested and the quantity she can produce.
Dairy goats will be shown by students Montanna Devine, Philip Kokkinoftas, Georgia Amos, Anita Cleaver, Kearna Warren and Oliver Wareing.
The Border Leicester Ewes and lambs will be shown by Melanie Cook and Abbi Smith. Melanie is also entering in the Junior Judging Competition for Sheep.
The Alpacas will be shown by Sarah Hawkins, Daniel Watkins-Reynolds, Darcy Woolley and Liam O’Sullivan.
Rabbits will be shown by our Year 5 students Harrison Mallay, Kaylee Strange, Taylah Bernes, Tanishka and Priyannika Kumrai.
The Silkie bantams will be shown by Sharni Stoward, the Pekin duck by Sophie Van Tienen.
There will be a Dominic Stand situated near the Homeware Shed and Life on the Farm shed, where we will be showcasing all the animals who are part of the Animal Husbandry course.
Many students from both classes and some parents will be there with their animals over the three days.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ was very successful last year so we hope to do just as well.
Youth Art Awards
With the Royal Hobart Show opening in Hobart this Thursday, congratulations goes to our finalists in the Youth Art Awards.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ student works will be featured in the Youth Art & Photography Exhibition. These finalists have received either First, Second, Third or Highly Commended Awards and this will be revealed at the Award Presentation that will take place this Saturday 27 October at 11am.
All finalists and their families are invited to attend this exciting event and to facilitate this there are tickets at the showgrounds gate for the student and an adult parent or guardian on presentation of identification.
Visual Arts finalists: Jackie Van Lierop, Tylar Jenni, Oriel Estorninho, Max Brideson, Braedi Walsgott, Thomas Atkinson and Tara Davie.
Media Arts finalists: Mitchell Zielinski, Georgina Richardson, Jack Bentley, Lachlan Pullen, Harrison Harper, Ebony Madden, Tyler Clay, Isabella Roberts and Georgia Hay.
