We produce a fortnightly Newsletter during term, featuring a variety of reports and stories from staff and student leaders in areas of administration, learning and curriculum, wellbeing, community and mission.

Mrs Rosemary Street has retired after nearly 30 years working at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, but her association with the school goes back to when she enrolled at St John's Parish school when she was 4 years old.

​Focus on Graphic Novels

What are graphic novels? Are they ‘real’ books? Are they good for our children? These are common questions that parents and teachers ask all the time. Many parents may be concerned that their child is choosing to read graphic novels instead of ‘proper’ books and that somehow this will slow down their learning or that it isn’t ‘real’ reading.

Science in Year 5

Year 5 classes have been learning in Science class about adaptations in animals and plants. This week they got 'hands-on' (literally) to discover how blubber insulates animals and helps them to survive in cold temperatures. Looks like a lot of fun!

Year 7 Camp Week Salesian Immersion

In recent years the College has been developing ways that students can learn about the history of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and the experiences of its students. A successful innovation has been the introduction of a Salesian Immersion program during the Tear 7 Camp Week. While two of the four House groups are attending camp, the other two Houses undertake activities including a History Walk, Salesian games, art and journals, cooking "dodgers" and potatoes in the ashes and a drama intensive "In Their Shoes".

Christmas Eve carols and Mass

On Christmas Eve each year, old scholars and friends of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ celebrate with carols and Mass in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Chapel, in memory of Br Peter Dezani SDB. The ceremony this year saw a good congregation of old scholar families, current families, some new and some old faces.

​Blessings and Goodbye to Principal Beth Gilligan

On Friday 14 January 2022, our muchloved Principal who has been the leader of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ since 2009 will transition to retirement after thirteen years of faithful and dedicated service and leadership to our College. Over the past two weeks we have celebrated the many achievements Beth has had during her tenure as Principal and it has been touching to hear the lovely words of gratitude expressed to Beth from members of staff, parents, the wider community, and most importantly past and present students.
