On camp we undertook a really big hike - a 5km walk to and from Bivouac Bay to stay the night. When we got to camp we prepared our sleeping gear. After we had all our things ready we had about 5 to 10 minutes to relax, before we had to get started on our tea which the wonderful Mrs Davey helped prepare. The dinner was carbonara, so we needed to chop the onions, mushrooms and bacon. Once we finished tea we cleaned up all our mess!
The next day we walked back to camp and had lunch which was a salad roll. We got our gear and equipment ready for surfing at Eagle Hawk Neck where there were very big waves.
The next day we were really looking forward to kayaking and rafting.
What a great experience it was - thank you to Mr Mackie and all the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ staff.

From the 6-10 March, Year 7 had one of their most challenging camps ever. As we prepared to leave we were excited for the experiences heading our way!
For some of us (the new students this year) it was our first school camp but for others this is our second as ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ students. Once Siena and Savio Houses had arrived at Fortescue Bay we broke into house groups and began our camp. Siena started off with Kayaking and Beach Challenges. Kayaking was by far the best thing about that day.
My favourite part was my mate, Jazmyn Bartels, falling in three times and sinking once! We all thought Mr Mackie would need to do a mass rescue that day.
For tea we had an amazing beef stir-fry prepared by the students. Fantastic cooking skills!
Day two of our camping adventure we had an early start. We hopped on the bus ready for the surfing journey ahead. We had three amazing surfing instructors, two of them are the top 10 in the world and we had Mr Mackie, all of us knew that we weren’t going to be the next Mick Fanning but we caught some amazing waves. Surfing was a wonderful thrill, to get the feel of the ocean and for the boards. When we went back to camp we had lunch and packed our packs and headed for our long hike.
During our hike we faced some challenges but we pushed through. When we finally reached the end, we had tea and off to bed we went. The next morning we headed back to camp and packed for our ride home. While some of us sang our hearts out, others sat in peace. As you can see we had such an amazing time - we can’t wait for Year 8 camp!
