Year 7-10 parent/teacher interviews

We have had a successful start to Term 2 this week. As we progress through the first half of the academic year it is important to connect with and gain feedback from our parents.

Building strong relationships and communicating effectively with our parents is vital in ensuring that your child is being supported, nurtured and challenged at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ. The parent/teacher interviews provide a forum for our families to engage with their child’s teachers and to discuss their progress, concerns and affirmations. Last night’s Year 7-10 parent/teacher interviews were very successful.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank families for their attendance at the interviews and a very special thank you to the staff for their outstanding commitment and effort in conducting these interviews.

One parent said to me: ‘I was pleased to meet my child’s teachers and the feedback and strategies for improvement I received were very helpful. The teachers here are wonderful and my child is really enjoying their time at Dominic.’

Another said: ‘I am really happy with how my child is progressing.’

After parent/teacher interviews it can be beneficial to sit together to review teacher feedback and to do the following:

  • Review your child’s great strengths and affirm them.
  • Discuss emerging academic interests - new areas they are enjoying.
  • Reflect on identified areas of improvement and how these improvements can be achieved.
  • Discuss your child’s home organisation and time management for greater efficiency.
  • Especially discuss you reading your child’s assignments before submission for feedback for improvement.

Parent/teacher interviews are on next week for Kindergarten - Year 6 students. If parents have not booked an appointment yet, there is a final chance to do so now before bookings close on Monday morning.
