On Wednesday 29 May, World Challenge representatives Hannah and Rachel were on hand to help launch the World Challenge trip to Cambodia for 2020. They hosted a parent evening in the College library were many families braved the cold weather to learn about this amazing opportunity. Students currently in Years 8, 9 and 10 are eligible to travel.
World Challenge believes that life skills, such as resilience, empathy and leadership, are developed through real life experiences and they enable young people to develop these key skills through powerful student-led expeditions to the developing world.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ travelled with World Challenge to Cambodia previously in December 2017. During this time, the group was privileged to visit the World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat. They trekked through the beautiful Cambodian countryside, enjoyed delicious local cuisine and participated in a service project which saw them painting a primary school in one of the neediest areas of the country. They also had the amazing opportunity to connect with students at Don Bosco Technical School in Phnom Penh. For the group, to see the far reaching work of the Salesian and Don Bosco community was truly inspiring.
If you were unable to attend the evening and would like more information about the trip, please feel free to contact either Mr Aaron Davey or Mrs Jan Marcenko. Families are asked to register for the trip by Friday 14 June.
