In September each year Year 6 and Year 9 make their exciting immersion trips, Year 6 students travel to Canberra and Year 9 students to the Northern Territory. When they eventually graduate from ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ old scholars often recall these trips as some of the best times of their education.
Parents, families and friends can follow their adventures on our blogs.
Year 6 Canberra -
Year 9 Northern Territory:
Northern Territory
The Northern Territory Trip is fast approaching! On Monday 23 September, 47 Year 9 students and 6 staff, are off on the adventure of a lifetime. This trip is set to be the best yet.
Starting at the top end in Darwin, we will make our way down to central Australia, taking in as many stops as we can along the way. Over the 12 days we will get to see Kakadu, Jabiru, Nitmaluk (Katherine Gorge), Kings Canyon, the Devil’s Marbles, Alice Springs, Renner Springs and finally Uluru and Kata Tjutta in all their glory.
Students will pay a visit to Karakka, a local indigenous community just outside the Alice, where we will take part in a tour and traditional smoking ceremony. It is here that we make use of the NT earn and learn grant, secured again by Mrs Magee for the 5th year, and make a donation of fresh fruit, veg’ and non perishable items to the local community.
On behalf of the students travelling, Coordinators Mr Phil Hyatt and Mrs Jess Magee, teachers, Mr Adam Lapolla, Mr Scott Cason, Ms Maddi Shaw and Brother Barry Parker SDB, we wish to thank ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and our parents, for affording us this incredible opportunity. We know it will be life changing. Palaya! (Thank you)!

Canberra
The Year 6 cohort are getting more and more excited as the date for our immersion learning experience in Canberra nears.
Although no one is that keen for the 4.15am meeting time on Thursday September 24 we are looking forward to our visit to the nation’s capital and all the wonderful opportunities we will have while there.
The trip is an integral part of the Year 6 curriculum and relates to our Australian Curriculum Civics and Citizenship studies. With visits to the War Memorial, National Gallery, Parliament House, National Museum, Questacon, the AIS and more it is hard to decide which venue is the most anticipated.
We invite you to follow us on our adventures via the blog -
