All three Year 6 classes have been busily preparing for the annual ‘Say it Loud’ performances on Tuesday 4 July.
‘Say it Loud’ is a playbuilding program unique to ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ. Over the course of 15 weeks Year 6 students create self-devised documentary drama. Documentary drama is theatre that wholly or in part uses pre-existing documentary material (such as newspapers, government reports, interviews, etc.) as source material to develop into a performance script, where possible, using verbatim material mixed with the interpretation of the student. Our Year 6 classes have been working in class time to devise, edit and refine their source material.
Year 6A are producing a play about the global village whilst Year 6B is on the importance of expressing kindness. Year 6C have written a play about growing up.
Family and friends have had the opportunity to book in advance to see the end result of this sustained learning experience. There are two public performances of these works - matinee and evening. Each participating Year 6 student has been offered two tickets to either performance for their family.
