Project Rockit is a group of young people who address the issues young people have with Technology and Social Media.
For over ten years Project Rockit has been empowering school students to stand up to hate instead of standing by watching.
Through the lens of (cyber) bullying, their workshops explore themes of diversity, belonging, respectful relationships, values and ethics, while building student voice, leadership and empathy.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ jumped at the opportunity to bring Project Rockit to our EMPOWER Program.
My Year 8 Maths class was chosen to be the first students from ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ to experience the Project Rockit website and the excellent workshops.
Rosie, the Co-Founder of Project Rockit, and Chloe flew down from Melbourne on Wednesday to guide us through the fthree workshops which were filled with vivid colours, helpful pointers and real life stories.
Rosie then showed us a Powerpoint highlighting what Project Rockit is all about, how it began and where the inspiration to create it came from. She stated that when her sister, Lucy, and herself were in high-school they thought that they could do something about cyber bullying in the ever-developing tech world that we live in today.
Wednesday's Project Rockit launch was a great experience for all of us and I’m sure that my class mates would agree that Rosie and Chloe were great people and their workshops had a big impact on the way we see cyber bullying.
