P&F News: Program for 2019

The P&F has finished off the year strongly with our final meeting held on Wednesday 21 November and our Christmas Dinner held on Friday 23 November.

It was great to look back over the year and celebrate our achievements as a group. We are excited for next year and the upcoming AGM which will be held at our first meeting of 2019 - Wednesday 27 February 2019.

Jo Berry put together a powerpoint presentation of our year in review and we are also starting to gather feedback from members and staff about the Colour Run and Community Fair.

Going forward we are working on a new Constitution for the group which will be finalised before next year’s AGM. All positions are up for re-election and I would encourage all parents to attend the meeting and think about being part of this amazing group.

We have finalised our inaugural Colour Run and are proud to announce that we have made a profit of $14,111.57 which is just incredible. Thank you students and families.

Thank you Amanda Page for coordinating such an amazing event - it was fabulous! Prizes are on their way and will be handed to all students before the end of term.

Fair News

Dominiku Daiko opened the 2018 Community Fair with an amazing performance on the Taiko Drums.

Our community enjoyed a wide range of food, stalls and entertainment including the Gee Whizzer, Showbags, Sands Crazy Bikes, Animal Husbandry and much more. Special congratulations goes to both 2A and 2B - they have won a class party due to their profitable stalls that made a combined total of over $1100.

Financially, the Fair was extremely successful with $21,002.83 raised after costs which is an outstanding result.

The Major Raffle and Silent Auction were well supported. All winners have been contacted and results are available on our Fair Facebook page.

The committee is in discussions with the College Leadership Team about which projects to support next year. All parents are welcome to attend next year’s meetings and give your thoughts and ideas.

Thank You

Thank you to all Fair Committee members for your unwavering support and dedication in the months leading up to Fair Day. It is down to your hard work and positive attitude that this year’s Fair was so successful.

Thanks also to all teachers, students and staff members who were amazing running their popular classroom stalls, volunteering on food stalls and generally helping out when needed - you all did a fantastic job.

We would also like to thank all the parents who volunteered their time at the Fair - without your help we could not run the stalls we do. Congratulations to Sharyn Majchrzak as our Winner of the Volunteer Draw - she has won $300 off next year’s school fees!

Finally a massive “thank you” goes out to our wonderful School Banking ladies - Michelle Gilligan, Nicole Lacy, Michelle Nicolle, Tash Barron, Alison North and Karen Kelly.

They work tirelessly every Friday to process the bank books and this year they have earned for us a commission of $1443.46. Thank you so much for volunteering your time, it makes a huge difference to our school community and we really appreciate it.

Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and we will see you all in 2019.

Mrs Nicola Rayner - P&F Community President
