Term 1 is flying by and we have three major events on in the next few weeks.
Our Easter Raffle is up and running and donations and raffle tickets are starting to come into the school offices, so thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
Please remember you can donate until 5 April and extra raffle tickets can be picked up from either the K-6 or 7-10 offices. We would love some parents to help us wrap the hampers, so if you are available on Wednesday 5 April, please let us know!
Our K-6 Spooky Disco will be held on Friday 5 May and plans are well underway for this event as it will be on in the first week of Term 2. Thomas Atkinson will be our DJ for the evening, the Oratory Space has been booked and we will have a tuckshop with chips, choccies and glow sticks that can be purchased. A flyer will be sent out before the end of term with further details.
Our Mother’s Day Stall is on Wednesday 12 May, our stock has arrived and we have a fantastic range this year. We are looking for volunteers to help run the stall on the day, so if you are free, please email parentsandfriends@dominic.tas.edu.au
In conjunction with Mother’s Day we are also holding our first Thermomix raffle which we are very excited about. Tickets will be limited and more info will be sent out soon.
At our P&F meeting last week, Dylan Chivers came to update us on the work going on in the new Creative Arts hub, traffic management for the rest of the year, plans for stage 2 of the Playground and much more. We also came to the unanimous decision to move the AGM to the beginning of the school year to give new parents a chance to join the committee and also to take the pressure off making major decisions straight after the Fair.
We also received our financial audit back from the College and we have a very healthy budget which will go towards the Playground and Library developments this year.
Finally, new equipment has arrived for all K-2 students to enjoy in the sandpit areas and I was delighted to hand out the equipment to some very excited Prep students. Thank you to Ruth Scanlon and Jane Doyle for giving us the opportunity to help enrich our students play areas. We hope that all students enjoy the equipment.
