On Wednesday 12 September, we welcomed our grandparents to our school and shared a day filled with love, joy and happiness.
We started off the day by greeting our guests and guiding them to the Savio Centre where they were presented with a selection of delicious scones, muffins, fruit and biscuits. After the grandparents had morning tea our assembly was opened by our School Captains which included a lovely prayer from the Year 4 and 5 Student Representative Council members, songs and a some special words from Ms Gilligan.
Grandparents were then directed to their grandchild’s classroom. There were a variety of activities that the grandparents joined and they observed the various artwork exhibits displayed around the classrooms.
From our animal husbandry department, a range of animals were also on display.
Despite the wintery weather, the day was very successful with 462 grandparents visiting.
We all share fond memories of our grandparents, including their never empty cookie jar and always supportive attitude. Once again we are thankful for all the work that went into the preparation of this wonderful event.
