ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ held its annual International men's Day breakfast bright and early on Thursday 19 November. Boys from Year 5 to 10, their fathers, grandfathers and carers; men from the staff, the community and old scholars, too, enjoyed egg and bacon burgers, muffins, fruit and refreshments in elegant style in our Savio Centre.
The gathering was entertained by some fine music from Oscar and Harry Breslin, and from Ben Dowling, heard some words of wisdom from Director of Mission, Mr Tim Swan, some welcomes and introductions from student leaders and a fine speech from our guest, Dr Dominic Chan, old scholar, Class of 2004.
Dr Chan is continuing his studies - he has never stopped! - while Registrar at the Royal, and encouraged students to discover their passion, accept change and challenge, and be positive and decisive in their choices in life and for their future.
Their was a raffle, of course, and an auction of a fancy digital video camera, raising more funds for the valuable support of the Salesian schools in Samoa.
Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters, and especially to the students and fathers whose commitment has made this event an important part of our College life.
