Our Equestrian Team for the 2015 Schools One Day Event gathered at Seven Mile Beach early on Sunday 3 May for the dressage phase of the competition.
Shari Smith (riding Archie), Jasmine Rayner (riding Will), Jasmine Taylor (riding Pumpkin) and Emily McSherry (riding Remy) all completed the dressage test with wonderful confidence and composure and were rightfully very happy with their performances.
The afternoon session of the competition comprised the cross country and show jumping phases of the overall competition. One of the things you can be sure of in equestrian competition is that you never know what is in store for you on the day.
Jasmine Taylor had a very good day jumping, and completed both sections successfully with only one jumping penalty incurred, and eventually finishing 5th in her group for the individual competition. For the other team members the jumping phases proved to be a "character building experience."
However, the day ended on a very positive note when at the presentation of trophies and ribbons the Dominic Team found out how well they performed in dressage with their team score achieving 4th place, out of 14 teams, in the Kensington Motors Trophy Competition for Team Dressage.
This is the first time ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ has placed in an equestrian team event, an historic occasion. The girls can be very proud of their achievement.
Thank you to Mr Nolan for organising the team entry and his assistance and support of the girls on the day!
