The Dominic Old Scholars Association (DOSA) committee normally meets in the Basil Fox Room at Grantleigh once or twice a term. However, the August meeting was held at Guilford Young College, the former Dominic College Senior Campus, in the GYC Boardroom, the former chapel at Holy Name Convent.
Many thanks to GYC for their hospitality in allowing the DOSA Committee to use this space. After our regular meeting to discuss upcoming events and matters of interest to past students, the committee attended the opening night of Grease at GYC’s Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre. There were a number of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ old scholars in the cast, who performed with skill and passion.
If any former students would like to be a guest at one of our future meetings, please email oldscholars@dominic.tas.edu.au
Over 170 students and staff, including all Year 8 students and Year 9/10 elective drama, dance and music students visited GYC the following day to see a matinee presentation of GYC’s production of Grease.
An energetic and enjoyable production, the experience was enhanced by the students seeing our recent old scholars on stage performing with remarkable style. An outstanding performance by Eloise Kerstan as Betty Rizzo was a highlight as was catching up with all the GYC old scholar students and champion drummer Josh Cannan who graduated from GYC last year.
