This term we have started The ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Friends Club.
This is a wonderful initiative introduced by Ms Jane Kilpatrick, our educational psychologist, where 12 lucky students are selected by their teachers to attend the lunchtime activity each week.
Run by Year 6 volunteers, our Friends' Club is an opportunity for students to play cards, board games or draw together in small groups.
Three groups are run each week for students of different year levels. Clubs such as this are so beneficial for helping our young people develop their social skills, in learning how to wait and take turns and how to be a good winner and loser.
These are important skills that are needed for most of life's experiences. Playing games also helps with a range of important skills, such as number skills, communication skills, building relationships and can be a different approach to learning from which some children really benefit.
