Fifteen ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ students ran the robots for visitors to our ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Robotics tent at the Derwent Valley festival on Sunday 10 April.
Director of Teaching and Learning, Mrs Selina Kinne, said the display was an extension of the activities undertaken by the Robotics Club at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, who meet weekly, and particpate in a number of competitions each year.
"This was a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and present a strong image of exciting and engaging learning opportunities at Dominic," Mrs Kinne explained.
Visitor numbers to the Festival were significant again this year, and organisers were happy with the crowds sampling local cuisine and trade, and being entertained by a range of activities.
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Principal, Ms Beth Gilligan, praised students and staff for their community spirit.
"I was also thrilled to see many of our old scholars drop in to visit our Robotics tent, to express their best wishes to the school and to catch up with teachers and friends," Ms Gilligan reported.
"The day was windy, but we had a blast! Our showbags were very popular, and our balloons are always a favourite. Students from local primary schools were impressed with the Robotics Club demonstrations presented by Dominic students. We hope they'll join us in future years!"
