Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the Child Migrants

â€‹On Wednesday 3 August ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ commemorated 70 years since the arrival of the Former British Child Migrants, when 39 young boys arrived at Boysâ€™ Town in 1952 from orphanages in Great Britain. Six of these children were able to attend our assembly and receive our proud acknowledgement and sincere thanks for helping our school to grow in the early days and for helping us to understand and appreciate our heritage and history.

Reunion for the Class of 1971

â€‹The Savio College and Holy Name Year 10 classes from 1971 had a great reunion on Saturday 9 April 2022 at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬.

Death of former Deputy Principal Sr Val Grimson op

â€‹Sr Valerie Grimson op passed away in Concord, Sydney, NSW on 18 March 2022 aged 97 years.

Happy retirement Mrs Street

Mrs Rosemary Street has retired after nearly 30 years working at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬, but her association with the school goes back to when she enrolled at St John's Parish school when she was 4 years old.

The passing of Fr Peter Rankin SDB

The Principal of ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ has announced the passing of former College Rector, Fr Peter Rankin SDB, on Friday 14 January 2022.

Christmas Eve carols and Mass

On Christmas Eve each year, old scholars and friends of ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ celebrate with carols and Mass in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Chapel, in memory of Br Peter Dezani SDB. The ceremony this year saw a good congregation of old scholar families, current families, some new and some old faces.

2021 Hall of Achievement induction

It has now become an annual tradition for two old scholars to be inducted into the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Hall of Achievement and in 2021 the College celebrated the contributions of Dr Tim Tenbensel (1980) to Academia and Sr Mary-Clare Holland OP (1966) to Community Service.

â€‹Everyone is invited to join our old scholars and families in the traditional Christmas Eve Carols and Mass in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Chapel.

Class of 2001 Reunion

An excellent group of thirty-somethings enjoyed an exuberant 20-years reunion of the Class of 2001 on Saturday 20 November 2021.

Blessing of the new Chapel Memorial Wall

â€‹The new Memorial Wall in the Chapel was blessed following Mass in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Chapel on Friday 19 November 2021. Family, friends, staff past and present, and student leaders joined together to recognise the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Salesians at Boys' Town in 1946 as well as reflecting on and commemorating the lives of those students and staff who have passed away while working or studying at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬.
