This week, students and staff were involved in election and discernment processes regarding our student leaders of the College for 2019. Year 9 students spoke to Year 7-9 students and staff at an extended assembly in the Savio Centre on Wednesday and outlined their thoughts on leadership, their time at the College and hopes for the College.
It was a privilege to listen to our students speak about leadership as service, role modelling and commitment to hard work to make a difference in a community. All candidates were articulate and impressive in the way they shared with students their ideas for supporting student needs and the ways they hoped to collaborate with their peers.
I commend every student who spoke as part of our student election process. It takes confidence, commitment and courage to share one’s thoughts in front of a large gathering and to step out of one’s comfort zone.
We are fortunate to be blessed with an outstanding student body 7-10 with high calibre leaders. Today we proudly announce our 2019 College Captains and Vice Captains.
Our 2019 College Captains are Maddison Cockerill and Lachlan Rowlands and our College Vice Captains are Ella Fitzpatrick and Tom Atkinson.
We wish these fine young people the very best in their preparation for their roles and we know they will work incredibly hard to support the College and represent student interests and student voice in 2019.
