Catholic School Principals meet at Dominic

Last week, the Catholic School Principals from across Tasmania held their Term 4 meeting at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ. The principals meet collectively four times a year as what is known as the Catholic College of Educational Leaders (CCEL).

CCEL attend to and discusses a range of educational matters concerning all of our schools. The agenda is diverse and this week included items and sessions ranging from the Catholic Church’s 2020 Plenary Synod, Workplace Health and Safety and due diligence as well as a session on the Sexualization of Children and Young People.

It was good for the College to welcome our leaders in Catholic education and extend our hospitality and support to them. We met in the Magone Centre overlooking our expansive grounds, the envy of many of my colleagues whose schools don’t have this kind of play and sports areas.

Our impressive Japanese language students and Taiko drummers were part of the welcome and prayer on the second day of meetings.

I am grateful to Kumashiro Sensei and Allen Sensei for their ongoing good work in developing our Taiko ensemble and furthering their passion for Japanese culture.

Thank you to our Before and After School Program students, staff and families for relocating to our K-4 for the two days of meetings. I appreciate your goodwill and support in that change this week.
