Cambodia calling

A group of ten Year 9 and 10 ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ students along with Mr Davey and Mrs Marcenko are about to depart on a trip of a lifetime to Cambodia. This is Dominic’s first trip with the World Challenge organisation which involves a trekking phase, a community project phase and a rest and relaxation phase.

The group will visit the Temples of Angkor and trek through rice paddies, a sugar plantation and a low level mountain range. They will visit the country’s capital, Phnom Penh which is situated on the banks of the Mekong River.

The community engagement phase will take place on the outskirts of the city of Battambang at Ptea Teuk Dong. This is a community focused organisation which works to empower children and adults through education and training.

The group is also very excited to visit Don Bosco Technical Institute in Phnom Penh which was established in 1991 to meet the educational needs of marginalised children and young adults living in extreme poverty in the post-war period of reconstruction.
