The Dominic Old Scholars Association Football Club held its annual Best & Fairest Dinner and presentations evening at the Carlyle Hotel on Friday 8 October 2021. A huge crowd of members, supporters and guests enjoyed a loud and glamourous evening to finish the 2021 season.
Mr Cameron Golding and Mr Pat Carroll spoke on behalf of the DOSA FC Executive (Todd Curtain, Justin Veitch, Brendan Loveless, Aaron Davey, Pat Carroll, Luke Golding and Cam Golding) saying that they appreciate and were gratelful for all that the volunteers and supporters do to help this great club, The DOSA Roosters, continue and be successful.
They said '2021 has been a great year for the club in so many ways. Although we did not find the ultimate success in September, we welcomed many new faces to our club. To each person who is new to our club this year we hope you have enjoyed your time and are here to stay for many years to come. The club is successful, viable and moving in the right direction that is for sure. We are a home for many and a place of happiness and although success is often measured in Premierships, as a club we strive to be so much more than just this and attracting quality people has always been at the forefront and with the quality of people that we see before us here tonight it is safe to say we are moving in the right direction.'
A memorable part of the evening was a sincere tribute to Mr Brian Smith, a past parent of the College, and one of the most important founders of the football club, who undertook many leadership positions for the Football Club, and was crucial to the administration, fundraising and supervision of the Club and its outreach to the community via the Tolosa Youth organisations associated with the Football Club and the school. Brian's widow, Marge, daughter Maree and grandson Matthew attended, and appreciated the Club's tribute to Brian.
