Belinda Kumashiro
Coordinator of Asian Studies K-10, Teacher - Japanese
Belinda began her teaching career in Tasmania before setting off to Japan in the late 1990s with the goal of developing her Japanese skills. After initially teaching EFL, she then spent several years gaining valuable experience developing curriculum materials and conducting teacher training for an international school. Belinda's love of Japanese festivals led to her joining a local wadaiko drumming group, and she also enjoyed the annual bon dances whilst wearing Japanese summer kimono (yukata). During her 15 years in Japan she travelled extensively around the country and has many fond memories of her time there. Belinda is eager to share her passion for Japan and the Japanese language with her students.
